About National Brain Tumor Society
National Brain Tumor Society, based in Newton, MA, is the largest, and one of the most influential nonprofit organizations dedicated to the global brain tumor community. We are fiercely committed to finding better treatments and driving rapid progress toward a cure for brain tumors. We drive a multi-faceted and thoughtful approach to aggressively influence and fund strategic research, as well as advocate for public policy changes, in order to achieve the greatest impact, results, and progress for brain tumor patients. Money raised by the generous donations of our supporters has directly funded groundbreaking discoveries, programs, clinical trials and policy initiatives. National Brain Tumor Society is a Charity Navigator Four-Star designated nonprofit. Locally, in New England we host several events to raise awareness and much-needed resources to fund critical brain tumor-specific programs to improve the lives of all those affected by brain tumors. Our Boston Brain Tumor Ride, Boston Brain Tumor Walk & Fun Run, Gray Gala, and Connecticut Brain Freeze offer individuals and teams a chance to honor and remember loved ones, connect with others interested in the brain tumor cause, and helps to educate the local community on the diverse needs of the brain tumor community. All funds raised through our events allow the National Brain Tumor Society to advance research and public policy to improve the availability of new and better treatments, and fuel the discovery of a cure for brain tumors. An estimated 1,300 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor in Massachusetts and approximately 310 will die. These are statistics we aim to change.
