About Empowerment Through Integration (ETI)

Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is a Boston-based nonprofit that focuses on the empowerment of blind youth to be the catalyst for change in their communities. ETI is committed to the development of an inclusive society by transforming social stigma against disabilities across the globe and empowering blind youth to the be authors of their future and change makers of their society. This mission is achieved through a series of programs that foster inclusion and dialogue while bringing out the potential of the youth. ETI was founded by Sara Minkara, a Lebanese American who herself is blind and founded ETI out of her own personal experience and passion for empowering blind youth across the globe to be the catalyst for change in their communities. Sara and ETI’s work have been recognized by the Clinton Global Initiative, the Harvard President’s Challenge, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology IDEAS Global Challenge Award, and Echoing Green Fellowship, and was recently selected as a Forbes “30 Under 30” for 2017.
